Larry Campbell & Teresa Williams
Larry Campbell is a master of acoustic and electric guitar, mandolin, fiddle, pedal steel, cittern, and various other instruments. He initially forged a path from NYC (as a regular performer and accompanist at the Lone Star Cafe) to Austin and LA, playing with Shawn Colvin, Buddy & Julie Miller, Emmylou Harris, Rosanne Cash, et al. He performed/recorded with Bob Dylan for eight years. Upon departure from Dylan's band, Larry became musical director/producer for the Levon Helm Band, resulting in three consecutive Grammy awards for Dirt Farmer, Electric Dirt and Ramble at the Ryman. He's produced/played on records for David Bromberg, Jorma Kaukonen, Hot Tuna, and more. He was named Instrumentalist of the Year in '08 by the Americana Music Assoc'n and honored with their Lifetime Achievement Award in '13.
Teresa Williams grew up living the story of Americana music, picking and hoeing cotton on her family's seventh generation W. Tenn farm surrounded by the music of the Delta, Muscle Shoals, Nashville and Kentucky, singing at church, revivals and "singings with dinner on the ground." When Teresa came to NYC, she intersected musically with Campbell. They spent years working/traveling apart, with Teresa's theatre habit that included creating the role of Sara Carter, lead singer of Original Carter Family, for Keep on the Sunny Side and Larry's Never Ending Tour with Dylan's band. Together again and married, Larry and Teresa performed for years at Levon Helm's Midnight Rambles and toured as members of the Levon Helm Band. They tour regularly with Phil Lesh and Friends, Hot Tuna, Jackson Browne, and Little Feat at their Feat Fan Excursions. Among many recordings, they appear on Hot Tuna's Steady as She Goes, Jorma Kaukonen's River of Time, Helm's Dirt Farmer, Electric Dirt, Ramble at The Ryman, and MerleFest Ramble, and in the concert film, Love for Levon and the documentary Ain't In It For My Health. Their debut LP, Larry Campbell & Teresa Williams, was released June, 2015.
