![]() Each year, the Québec International Guitar Show is a major meeting in the musical landscape of Quebec City. Born from the desire to invite artists, artisans and fans of the fingerstyle acoustic guitar to a unique event, it takes place every year in November at centre d’art La Chapelle. In addition to concert evenings offered by internationally renowned guitarists, there are two days of exhibition-encounters with 16 luthier craftsmen, real stars for guitarists, who share their passion and exhibit their masterpieces. Visitors can also enjoy mini-concerts every hour and try out some of the most unusual guitars. |
![]() Why have an archtop guitar festival? The archtop guitar, from its unlikely beginnings to its current various incarnations, is arguably the most difficult to build and the most rewarding to play of all the guitar styles. Embraced by most jazz guitar players, the archtop has been a staple instrument across genres for more than a century. The creators behind these special instruments, and the players who love them, can be found at luthier shows around the world, but there’s never been a show dedicated just to them… until now! In addition to the guitar exposition, we will feature 18 hours of workshops and 30 hours of performances from world class players and educators. |
