Kinloch Nelson - Fingerboard Strategies for Note Memorization Methods and Melody Exploration

Kinloch Nelson presents a practical method for exploring melody and organizing, understanding and memorizing the fingerboard. Method elements include: melody pathways and fingerboard layout; single & redundant note positions; the lines of redundancy; points of reference; scale & arpeggio visuals; mapping and substituting harmonics; ways to memorize. Handouts include: a two page What, Why, When, Where & How outline; a list of familiar & instructive melodies with suggested keys and relative complexity; fingerboard maps and other visual aids. Players any level of expertise can benefit from this information-packed presentation. Recording permitted.
Clinics cost $35 per person per clinic. Pay at the door with cash or credit card. There is limited space, so advance reservations are recommended. You do not need to buy a pass to the Luthiers Showcase to attend Clinics.

Participants should bring their own instruments, tuners, capos, any permitted recording devices, etc. Clinics will be held in the Pavilion of The Bear Cantina (295A Tinker Street, Woodstock, NY 12498), northwest corner of the Bearsville Center complex, steps away from the Bearsville Theater. There will be a free guitar checkroom there for Clinic attendees. No personal instruments are allowed in the Luthiers Showcase Bearsville Theater or Utopia Soundstage exhibition areas.
